Laser treatment of varicose veins

Laser Varicose Vein Treatment in Lviv, Uzhhorod, Drohobych, Chervonohrad

Laser varicose vein treatment is a safe and straightforward method for eliminating varicose veins. A laser is applied to the affected vein, causing the vessel wall to "weld" from the inside and gradually dissolve. The procedure is available at our clinics in Lviv, Uzhhorod, Drohobych, Chervonohrad and Slavske.

Indications for the Procedure

Endovenous laser coagulation (ablation) is recommended in the following cases:

  • persistent heaviness in the legs, pain even after light activity, or swelling;
  • enlargement of superficial veins;
  • skin discolouration;
  • development of a trophic ulcer.

Before deciding to undergo this procedure, you must consult a doctor and complete all necessary examinations.

Contraindications

Laser vein surgery is contraindicated in cases of:

  • deep vein thrombosis;
  • chronic lower limb ischaemia;
  • obliterating atherosclerosis;
  • severe cardiac conditions;
  • decompensated diabetes mellitus.

Additional contraindications may apply and are determined on an individual basis following patient examination and medical history review.

Preparing for the Procedure

Since laser varicose vein removal is a relatively simple procedure performed at our centres to the standards of leading European clinics, no extensive preparation is required. You will need to attend a consultation and examination with a phlebologist, who will assess the condition of your lower limbs and perform a venous ultrasound (Doppler scan).

You will also need to have a blood coagulation test and a general blood test.

After Laser Varicose Vein Removal

No complex rehabilitation is required after laser varicose vein removal. However, you will need to follow a few recommendations:

  • wear quality compression stockings (class 2 compression) for 2–3 weeks;
  • avoid heat exposure for 30 days;
  • avoid prolonged sitting or standing;
  • incorporate 1–2 hours of walking into your daily routine.

You may shower the day after the procedure and drive on the same day, provided you do not feel dizzy.

Our laser varicose vein treatment centre delivers procedures to a high European standard and guarantees affordable prices. Contact us to resolve your problem quickly, effectively and painlessly.
